AODA Assessments

A substance abuse assessment is completed by a certified counselor for individuals who have been referred by the court system, employer, EAP, or by self-referral.

The purpose of this assessment is to:

Evaluate whether there is a substance abuse issue Make referrals to substance abuse treatment as appropriate

 

Individual Counseling

Working collaboratively with a certified substance abuse counselor, the client will receive individual counseling, which includes:

Assessment Education on substance abuse Treatment planning and goal setting based on client’s concerns Processing changes necessary for an alcohol and/or drug-free lifestyle Assisting in setting up a support network

The number of individual sessions is determined by collateral requirements, client need, and agreement between the client and counselor.
